When cooking dumplings, they can overcook or stick together. But there are simple methods to make the dish perfect.

Why dumplings stick together:

  1. Dumplings can overcook, especially if you use frozen dumplings because their temperature is different from that of boiling water.
  2. Dumplings stick together because the starch on the surface of the dough sticks together in boiling water.

Here are some tips on how to cook dumplings properly:

  1. Before placing frozen dumplings in the water, let them come to room temperature; you can soak them in water for a few minutes.
  2. Use water with a temperature that does not exceed 50 degrees Celsius.
  3. Add some cold water during cooking to maintain a consistent temperature.

How to cook perfect dumplings:

  • Take a pot with 1.5-2 liters of water.
  • Add 2-3 bay leaves and 2-3 peppercorns to taste.
  • Add salt according to your taste.
  • Once the water reaches the desired temperature, add the dumplings.
  • Stir them constantly to prevent them from sticking together.
  • Cook for about 5-10 minutes and then transfer to a colander.
  • Serve with sour cream, butter or other sauces to taste.

Steaming dumplings is also a good option. For this, you need a few cups of water and 15-20 minutes of steaming. The dish is served immediately after cooking, and for a richer flavor, you can sprinkle it with ground black pepper or add sauces to your liking.
