Nutritionists unanimously say that sugar has a negative effect on health. And sweets lovers run the risk of gaining weight and having health problems.

Even with a complete rejection of sugar in tea or coffee, it is present in food products, for example, in yogurt. Many people seek to use a healthier alternative to white sugar, such as cane sugar, which, unlike its white brother, contains useful minerals.

Cane sugar differs from white sugar in its origin: it is made from sugar cane. It is better to use it unrefined - in this state, it retains more minerals.

Don't confuse cane sugar with brown sugar, which is white sugar with added molasses or caramel.

After all, cane sugar is not very useful, because its main ingredient is sucrose. Therefore, its consumption in large quantities can also lead to weight gain and health problems.

In its composition, cane sugar contains calcium, magnesium, iron, and potassium. White sugar does not have these minerals.

With all the advantages of cane sugar, people with diabetes cannot use it, because it causes

a rapid increase in the level of glucose in the blood.

When choosing cane sugar in the store, prefer unrefined: it contains minerals and about 20 percent less sucrose than white sugar.
