How to chill drinks quickly: tips to help in the summer
How to cool drinks

In the summer heat, there's nothing better than a refreshing cold drink to cool down. UAportal has prepared a list of methods to cool drinks in the shortest possible time.

Immerse the bottle in water

If you find yourself near a body of water, you have nature's own refrigerator at your disposal. Take advantage of it by immersing the bottles in cool water. To prevent them from floating away, bury them in the sand at the water's edge or place them in a bucket tied to a rope and lower them into the water if you're in a boat.

Be patient and the water will soon take effect, making your drinks pleasantly cool and refreshing. For optimal results, immerse them in deeper and cooler water to ensure thorough cooling.

Try the wet wrap method

Wrap the bottle in a damp towel or T-shirt and place it in a well-ventilated area, preferably with a gentle breeze. The moisture evaporating from the fabric creates a cooling effect, keeping the temperature underneath lower and keeping your drink perfectly chilled. Remember to moisten the fabric periodically to maintain the cooling effect.

Use an ice pack

Turn a regular thermos into a portable drink cooler with ice cubes. These can be easily found in most supermarkets. Place your bottles in the bag and fill it with ice. The bag's insulation will help keep the temperature cool, and the ice will slow down the heating process, keeping your drinks refreshing and chilled for a longer time. Choose a well-insulated bag to achieve better results and extend the life of the ice.

Improve the ice method with coarse salt

Fill a container with water, add ice and about 100 g of coarse salt. Adding salt to the water lowers the freezing point, which slows down the melting of the ice. By using this method, your bottles will stay cold for a longer time even in less ideal cooling containers.

Use a thermos or insulated flask

When we think of a thermos, we usually associate it with keeping hot drinks cold. However, they also do a good job of keeping temperatures low. Prepare your drink in advance and pour it into a pre-chilled thermos. The excellent insulation will keep your drink refreshingly cool, allowing you to enjoy it whenever you want.
