Storing pots and pans in a small kitchen can be a challenge. The problem becomes even more difficult when it comes to lids. UAportal will tell you how with ingenuity and practical methods, you can find the right way.

Where to store pots

  • One option is to stack small pots in large pots. This method works well if you have enough space in your kitchen cabinets. Alternatively, a practical solution for storing rarely used cooking utensils can be for use in other storage areas such as the oven or separate cabinets, such as mezzanines in hallways or balconies.
  • To organize the storage of pots and pans, deep drawers with high sides are ideal. However, not all kitchens are equipped with such handy features. In the absence of modern drawers, our mothers and grandmothers traditionally used tall and narrow cabinets, which were called "penals". It should be placed in any corner of the kitchen and take up a minimum of space.
  • If you can't invest in new furniture right now, using mezzanines can be an effective solution, although it does have its drawbacks. Accessibility can be a problem, as the ceiling height in modern apartments, the ceiling height is at least 2.5 meters, and you need a stepladder or chair to reach these storage spaces. In addition, not every apartment has mezzanines.

  • To store pot lids, start by allocating a separate place for them. There are organizers on the market that resemble drying racks for cups and plates. These organizers have holes where you can put lids and store them upright, making them convenient and suitable for lower kitchen cabinets.
  • Another option is to fold the lids by unscrewing their handles or purchasing replacement handles. Without them, the lids can be easily folded and it won't take up much space. While repeatedly unscrewing and screwing handles can be boring, it can be a practical storage method.
  • If you prefer a DIY approach, creating a homemade lid organizer is easy. Screw hooks to the inside wall of one of your lower kitchen cabinets. These hooks, available in construction stores, serve as ready-made fixtures to hold the lids in an upright position.
