Not with plain water: how to water onions so that they grow faster and do not rot

In Ukraine, onions are grown not only in summer cottages or gardens, but also on balconies. This plant is a popular ingredient and is used in many dishes.

However, despite its ease of cultivation, onions need some watering to ensure rapid growth and protect the crop from rotting. Experienced gardeners have their own tips on what exactly to water this plant with.

In particular, to accelerate growth, onions should be watered with a mixture of fertilizers. To prepare it, you will need mullein or ammonia. Add a glass of mullein or 50 ml of ammonia to a bucket of water. Mix the solution thoroughly, and then water the beds with onions.

Another option is to fertilize the soil with nitrogen fertilizers. You can also dilute 25 g of urea per 10 liters of water, but before adding fertilizer, moisten the beds.

To avoid rotting, you should prepare a saline solution. It is necessary to dilute a glass of salt in 10 liters of water, stir well and water the onions with the resulting mixture.
