A recent thunderstorm hit much of the East Coast of the United States, leaving devastating consequences. However, the lightning that struck the World Trade Center in New York was particularly impressive. Twitter users are sharing videos of this breathtaking phenomenon.

According to The Daily Wire, bright streaks of lightning lit up the sky over New York City on Saturday evening, April 1, when one struck the tallest building in the United States. Media reports of widespread destruction in New York City, which has been the victim of a series of dangerous storms.

WTC 1 was built on the site of the twin towers destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. World Trade Center 1 is considered the tallest building in New York and the entire Western Hemisphere. Its height with the spire is 541 meters. It is the seventh tallest skyscraper in the world.

Interestingly, this is not the first time the World Trade Center has been targeted by lightning. According to Accuweather, the building was struck 189 times between 2015 and 2020. This number of incidents makes it the second most affected building in the United States, behind only the Willis Tower in Chicago, which received 250 lightning strikes during the same time period.

Earlier, a video of lightning striking an airplane while landing in Antalya was posted online.
