Storing meat in the freezer can extend its shelf life and ensure you have a constant supply on hand for a variety of dishes.

However, defrosting meat usually takes a considerable amount of time. Sante Plus experts have provided advice on how to defrost meat in 10 minutes without using a microwave.

Your ally for quick defrosting is hot water. The method is straightforward:

  1. Begin by heating the water in a saucepan to 60°C, and then turn off the heat.
  2. Place the meat in a resealable freezer bag and immerse it in the pot of preheated water. Stir occasionally, and you can add hot water as needed.
  3. In approximately 10 minutes, the meat will be completely thawed.

Alternatively, you can fill a container with hot water, put it in a clean sink, and submerge the bag with the meat. Within 10 minutes, a piece of meat or even a chicken breast will be entirely thawed. Rest assured, bacteria will not be able to grow under these conditions, making this method safe.

Of course, those with a microwave oven can also use the special defrost function, which can thaw the meat in about ten minutes. However, this method is known to slightly alter the taste and appearance of the meat, and some parts may be partially cooked while others may not defrost properly.

As a reminder, many people store bread in the refrigerator, but experts suggest that doing so may lead to the bread spoiling faster.
