Two Russian Kalibr missiles enter NATO airspace

During the massive Russian attack on Ukrainian populated areas on February 10, two Russian Kalibr cruise missiles violated the airspace of Romania and Moldova. Thus, they entered NATO airspace.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command on Facebook, these missiles were launched from the Black Sea. "Two Kalibr cruise missiles entered the airspace of a NATO country," the statement said.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, reported on his Telegram channel that Russian missiles crossed the borders of Moldova and Romania during the massive shelling of Ukraine.

"Today, on February 10, at 10:18, two Russian Kalibr cruise missiles crossed the state border of Ukraine with the Republic of Moldova. At approximately 10:33, these missiles crossed the airspace of Romania and then re-entered the airspace of Ukraine at the point where the borders of the three countries intersect. The missiles were launched from the Black Sea," Zaluzhny wrote.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence of Moldova confirms that a Russian missile entered the country's airspace. This was reported by deschide.md

At 10:18, a missile was spotted crossing the airspace of the Republic of Moldova over the town of Mocra in the Transnistrian region, and then over the town of Cosăuți, heading towards Ukraine.

"We note that the Ministry of Defence, in cooperation with the responsible structures in the country, is closely monitoring the situation in the region and strongly condemns the violation of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova," the ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova said that the head of the diplomatic department, Nicu Popescu, ordered to urgently summon Russian Ambassador to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov to point out the inadmissibility of violating the country's airspace.

The Romanian media outlet Radio Liberty reports that the Romanian Defence Ministry told them that "the information about the Russian missile that flew over Romanian airspace is not confirmed".
