Ukrainian soldiers eliminated two enemy anti-aircraft missile systems designed to destroy low-flying helicopters and aircraft using drone strikes. The work of the defenders from the 79th Air Assault Brigade was captured on video.

The footage shows how the aerial reconnaissance men spotted an enemy trench using a drone. There were two Igla MANPADS in it. The first grenade dropped from the drone had no effect, but the second grenade dropped destroyed two enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

"Paratroopers of the 79th Air Assault Brigade destroyed two Russian Igla MANPADS with one grenade in the second attempt," the video description reads.

It is not reported in which direction the enemy weapons were destroyed.

The Igla man-portable air-defense system is a Soviet system designed to engage low-flying enemy helicopters and aircraft and other air targets on opposite and parallel courses in conditions of natural and artificial thermal interference.

Development of the fundamentally new system began in Kolomna in 1971. The system was put into service in 1983. KBM of the USSR was designated as the main developer of the Igla air defence system, while the heat-seeker was created by LOMO of the USSR. The main goal was to create a missile with better resistance to countermeasures and higher combat effectiveness than the previous generation of systems such as the Strela.

The Igla is in service with the army of Ukraine and the CIS countries, and has been exported to more than 30 countries since 1994.
