Military expert tells where on the frontline the occupants are going on the offensive besides Bakhmut

Military expert, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladyslav Selezniov told where the most intense fighting is taking place on the frontline, apart from Bakhmut. According to him, the occupants are also trying to go on the offensive in the area of Vuhledar, Kreminna, Kupyansk and Lyman.

He noted that the active phase of fighting began in the east on January 25. Selezniov said this in an interview with Telegraph.

The colonel noted that the occupiers are almost continuously attacking Ukrainian positions near Vuhledar. At the same time, the enemy has deployed almost all paratroopers from the 76th Airborne Brigade to the area of Kupiansk and Lyman.

"Active fighting in the Avdiivka area has been going on for over 11 months. The situation there is constantly difficult. Active hostilities have been going on in the Bakhmut sector for over 5 months. They have also intensified in the area of Kupyansk and Lyman after almost all units of the 76th Airborne Division of the Russian Armed Forces moved there. This is a very serious, elite level division," Selezniov said.

He added that the Russians are replenishing their losses with mobilised soldiers who have undergone training and combat coordination in Belarus.

Thus, the occupiers' repeated offensive is already underway in the east, as the enemy has moved to active combat without a large number of troops. According to Selezniov, the Russian tactic is to gradually increase pressure in Donbas.

"The Ukrainian defence forces operating in the area of Kreminna are having an extremely difficult time. The fighting is taking place in the forest bordering this settlement. Putin's army is constantly increasing pressure. It has the same goal - to take full control of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," the expert explained.

Earlier, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kirill Budanov shared his forecast for 2023. According to him, the new year could be a victorious one for our country.

In turn, Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Malyar commented on the combat situation in eastern Ukraine. According to her, the Russian occupiers are not giving up their attempts to break through the Ukrainian defences.
