The armed forces of Ukraine for the first time released video footage of strikes on the territory of Russia reports the German publication Bild. These shots were published on April 2 in the Telegram channel of the commander of the Kharkiv garrison Serhii Melnyk. The exact date of the video shoot is unknown.
The video is accompanied by the following comment: "Fighters of the 4th Border Detachment conducted reconnaissance and discovered the equipment of the occupiers, personnel who were setting up positions, as well as trucks. Thanks to professional interaction with the gunners, the target was immediately destroyed."
A Twitter user with the nickname SerDer_Daniels determined that the Russian military, which came under fire from the Armed Forces, were in positions near the village of Tsapivka in the Belgorod region, in a forest strip near a farm 1.3 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
Bild military columnist Julian Repke called this strike preemptive, believing that the Russian army planned to advance from these positions in the direction of Kharkiv. According to the expert, the video was largely addressed to Kyiv's Western allies.
"With preventive strikes on the territory of Russia, Ukraine is showing that it is defending itself more and more confidently and will no longer allow the West to dictate how it should defend itself," he said.
