The fall of a celestial body, probably a meteorite, occurred on the night of April 7 in the Ust-Kut district of the Irkutsk region of Russia. Local mass media distributed footage of the meteor's flight.

It is noted that late at night from April 6 to 7 in the sky above the Irkutsk city of Ust-Ktu, local residents saw the passage of an unknown celestial body and a bright flash. Later, recordings from a dozen street video cameras that recorded this phenomenon appeared on social networks.

The administration of the Ust-Kut district later wrote on its Telegram channel: "At 10:47 p.m. local time, a bright glow, outwardly similar to a comet, suddenly appeared over the city."

There were no reports of casualties or destruction.

Subsequently, the authorities of the Ust-Kut district published the following message:

"Dmytro Semenov, head of the Great Irkutsk Planetarium, and employee of the ISU Astronomical Observatory, noted that it is highly likely that the cameras recorded the fall of the meteorite, but this version certainly requires verification."

According to him, "It is also necessary to check whether rocket stages or satellites did not leave orbit - this is also not excluded."

We will remind you, on the night of February 13, a huge ball of fire was seen in the sky over France and Great Britain - a meteorite fell.
