Perfect for tea: a recipe for Scottish buns with cherries
Scottish scones

These scones are the perfect complement to coffee or tea. They are light, fluffy and sweet, and very easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

- Wheat flour - 400 g

- Sugar - 115 g

- Baking powder - 20 g

- Unsalted butter - 115 g

- Sweet cherries - 150 g

- Cream - 230 g

- Chicken eggs - 1 pc.

- Jam - 40 g

- Vanilla extract - 5 g

- Salt - 5 g

Method of preparation:

1. Sift the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt together in a bowl. Cut the butter and add to the dry mixture and cut in with a knife.

2. Wash the cherries, remove the stems and pits, and cut them in half. Add it to the crumbs and mix.

3. Mix the heavy cream, egg, berry jam, and vanilla and add to the flour and cherry mixture, mix well.

4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 20 by 30 cm. Trim the edges with a knife. Cut the dough in half crosswise, then lengthwise into four pieces to make 8 rectangles. Cut each rectangle in half diagonally to make 16 triangles.

5. Put them on a baking sheet covered with parchment and bake until golden brown for 20-25 minutes at 200 degrees.
