UAportal has prepared a selection of practical tips to help remove stains from clothes in just five minutes.

Quick steps for fresh stains

Start by gently blotting the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the substance as possible. Do not rub, as this may cause the stain to spread further.

Then rinse the affected area with cold water. If the stain persists, make a paste of equal parts of baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stain, leave it on for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly. This method is effective for common stains such as coffee, juice or spilled food.

Say goodbye to oil-based stains

Oil-based stains, such as grease or salad dressing, can be difficult to remove. Start by sprinkling cornstarch, baby powder or talcum powder on the stain to absorb the oil. Leave it on for a few minutes and then gently brush the powder off.

Next, apply a small amount of dish soap or liquid laundry detergent to the stain and rub gently. Allow the soap to soak into the fabric for a minute or two and then rinse thoroughly with warm water. This method works wonders for removing oil-based stains without damaging the fabric.

How to deal with stubborn ink stains

Start by placing a clean cloth under the stained area to prevent the ink from transferring to other parts of the garment. Apply rubbing alcohol to a cotton pad or cotton ball and gently blot the ink stain. Continue blotting until the ink begins to come off.

Rinse the cloth with cold water and repeat the process if necessary. When the stain is gone, wash the item as usual. Don't forget to test the alcohol on an inconspicuous area first to make sure it won't damage the fabric.

How to remove red wine stains

Act quickly and blot the excess wine with a cloth or paper towel. Sprinkle the stain with salt, covering it completely. The salt will absorb the wine and prevent it from solidifying. After a few minutes, rinse the cloth with cold water and gently rub the stain with a mild detergent or stain remover. After that, wash the product according to the care instructions.
