A unique spread for sandwiches: How to make a herring paste
Making herring sandwich paste is a delicious and versatile way to prepare an appetizer that can be served both on the holiday table and on everyday menus.
You can spread this paste on bread or use a pastry bag to decorate sandwiches. You can also use it to stuff the halves of hard-boiled eggs. The recipe was shared on the Family and Home website.

Ingredients:
- 450 g herring;
- 12 boiled eggs;
- 100-150 g boiled carrots;
- 200 g hard cheese;
- 200 g of butter.
Preparation:
- Grate the eggs, cottage cheese and carrots on a grater with small holes.
- Cut the herring into small pieces of about 1 cm and place in a blender bowl.
- Add the room temperature butter to the herring and blend until puréed.
- Gradually add the grated ingredients to the mixture in the blender and whisk until you get a paste consistency. Depending on the saltiness of the herring, you may need to salt it a bit.
- Transfer the paste to a container and place it in the refrigerator. The pasta will be ready after an hour.
