Doctors from around the world shared stories of their patients who "came back" after clinical death. Researchers seem to be getting closer to understanding what happens to a person on the other side.

The results of the study were reported by the Daily Mail, which cited the conclusions and comments of doctors. In particular, it refers to the materials of the study's author, a doctor from an American clinic.

According to Sam Parnia, who is an intensive care expert at NYU Langone Health, before dying, a person could see life "flashing before" their eyes.

It is noted that more than 500 subjects took part in the study, and only slightly more than fifty women and men of them survived cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Out of the group of 500, the researchers also collected testimonies from 20 patients.

During resuscitation, special brain monitoring devices were connected to the patients to record any signals.

The devices projected various images on the screen in front of the patient or played audio recordings with specific words, such as apple, banana, or pear.

According to the research doctors, some patients could remember some of the things that were happening. However, some interpreted medical events in surprising ways.

One of them believed that he was "in hell." According to the doctors, this feeling could have arisen as a result of the interpretation of the burning sensation of intravenous potassium.

Other patients at the clinic underwent a kind of "life review" - some described memories from their lives, while others recalled certain people and how they had been treated during their lifetime.

At the same time, some patients said that they felt as if they were "headed toward a destination," and some even realized that cardiopulmonary resuscitation was being performed and even heard the doctors.

It is noted that some patients heard the medical staff, one saw and felt the touch of doctors, and three patients reported having dreams; for example, in one of them, a fisherman was singing.

Six respondents recalled near-death experiences, and one patient said she heard the voice of her grandmother, who had died long ago, telling her to return to her body.

A British doctor who has been collecting information about patients who have been brought back from the dead for more than 20 years said that some of them had reported heightened consciousness for decades.

Scientist Parnia believes that the unique near-death experience is very real. It is not like hallucinations, illusions, or delusions - in fact, all of these are real experiences that occur after death.

It should be noted that only a little over fifty subjects survived to be discharged from the hospital; 25 of them could not be interviewed for health reasons, aand only 28 patients were questioned about their distinct experience 2-4 weeks after clinical death.

Earlier, scientists from Switzerland found a way to treat nightmares by playing sounds during REM sleep. This is how they address sleep disorders.
