Anniversary birthdays evoke different associations in different cultures. In most countries, celebrating a fortieth birthday is considered an important event. However, in some cultures there is a belief that this holiday can lead to trouble.

For example, the Bible mentions that the number 40 is associated with suffering and evil. In the Christian tradition, on the 40th day after a person's death, a memorial rite is held when the soul of the deceased appears before God for the third and last time, and God decides where to send it. Therefore, it is customary to commemorate the deceased on this day.

In China, Japan, and Korea, the number 4 is associated with death and danger. In these countries, you can't find apartment, house, or elevator numbers with the number 4, and there are no routes on public transportation with this number.

In addition, in many cultures, the age of 40 is associated with certain psychological aspects. The milestone of 40 is considered a transition to maturity, when the body recovers more slowly from diseases and stress, and physical fitness deteriorates. Since the average life expectancy is approximately 70-80 years, the fifth decade makes us think that half the way has already been passed. According to research, the period from 40 to 50 years is considered the most unhappy in a person's life.

Some people believe that celebrating this anniversary can accelerate the aging process and lead to serious consequences. Others claim that gifts given on the fortieth birthday have negative energy. However, in reality, these are just myths.

Although celebrating an anniversary can be a good opportunity to gather friends and family, you shouldn't believe in superstitions and omens. Unfortunately, these beliefs can have a negative impact on a person's psychological state and reduce the pleasure of the celebration.

If you still want to avoid the negative influence of superstition, there are several ways to celebrate your anniversary without risk. For example, you can celebrate the last day of your 39th year or the first day of your 40th year. This can help you avoid being affected by negative energy.

Another option is to organize a celebration with your closest people, or instead of a luxurious feast, spend money to fulfill a cherished wish. This can be a great gift for you and add positive emotions to your anniversary day.

So, you shouldn't believe in myths and signs about celebrating your 40th birthday, but rather celebrate this date in the way that suits you best.
