Don't throw away yesterday's buckwheat: what to cook to make it simple and tasty
Dishes made from buckwheat

Probably everyone has had a situation where boiled buckwheat stays in the refrigerator for a long time until one of the family members decides to throw it away. However, yesterday's buckwheat porridge can become even more delicious

For example, if you fry small cracklings with onions in a frying pan, put buckwheat on top, and heat it up, it will taste even better than when it was just cooked.

You can also make delicious meatballs in a creamy sauce from yesterday's buckwheat. If you have a slow cooker, the process will not take much time at all.

What products will be needed:

  • Boiled buckwheat porridge
  • Minced meat - 500 g.
  • Water - 3 cups.
  • Onion - 1 pc.
  • Potatoes - 1 kg

For the gravy:

  • Cream - 200 ml.
  • Flour - 3 tbsp
  • Butter - 50 g
  • Onion - 1 pc.
  • Water - 1 liter
  • Salt, pepper - 1/6 tsp each.

How to cook:

Pass the minced meat through a meat grinder along with potatoes, onions and buckwheat. Season with salt and pepper, and add your favorite seasonings if desired.

Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them in a deep baking dish with a thick bottom.

Gravy: add melted butter and finely chopped onion to the cream, season with salt and pepper. Mix and add flour, stir again, and dilute with water. Pour over the meatballs and put them in the oven to bake, or under the lid on the stove. You will have a delicious dish in 30 minutes.
