Where is it better to store raw fish

Fresh fish is an ingredient in many dishes. However, improper storage spoils the taste of the fish and can also lead to the development of harmful bacteria.

Raw fish can be stored in the refrigerator and the freezer. The choice of place depends on your needs and the intended storage time, as stated by Channel 24.

Raw fish can be stored in the refrigerator for no more than two days. During this period, the product must either be cooked or frozen.

For refrigerator storage, the fish should be thoroughly washed in water and dried with paper towels. It's best to place the fish in a resealable bag.

Fish can be stored in the freezer for a much longer period. To do this, wrap the product in moisture-resistant paper or a special freezer bag.

After defrosting, rinse the fish with cold running water and dry it with paper towels. This will help remove mucus, which can negatively affect the taste of the product.
