Many people store potatoes in the barn, but this may not be the most practical choice. In particular, experts recommend keeping potatoes in the refrigerator.

It is also important that potatoes are stored separately from other fresh produce, especially onions, as they release ethylene gas. It promotes faster ripening, which is undesirable for potatoes.

Potatoes should be stored in a dark, cool place, otherwise light will force them to photosynthesize and sprout. In addition, the temperature should be below 10°C.
