Belarus announces its own rebellion: 'Wait for the signal'
Belarusians called to fight against Lukashenko's regime

Following the events in Russia, where Wagner group members tried to seize power, opposition forces in Belarus have become more active. Public figure Vadym Prokopiev said that a person from Lukashenko's entourage and some security forces are preparing to go over to the side of the people.

"A person from Lukashenko's entourage with some of the security forces will go over to the side of the people and ask for help," said Prokopiev and urged Belarusians to be prepared for such a turn of events.

"Tune in, get ready. The signal will be an appeal from a person from Lukashenko's entourage. He or she and some of the security forces will go over to the side of the people and ask for help. Don't ask me when. Just be ready," he said in a short video.

Prior to Prokopiev's video message, the commander of the Kastus Kalinoŭski Regiment, Denis "Kit" called on Belarusians not to participate in the conflict within Russia, but to tune in to the liberation of Belarus from Lukashenko's authoritarian regime.

"Favorable conditions for the destruction of dictatorship are rapidly approaching. This is the beginning of the end of the great tyranny. I appeal to all the Belarusian military. Do not take part in Russia's internal conflict. This civil war does not concern us. What is important for Belarusians is that the time is approaching when you will have to choose between fulfilling a criminal order or taking an oath of allegiance to the Belarusian people," he said.

Svitlana Tikhanovska called on Belarusians and local diplomats, military and security officials to "expel the Russian military from our country."

"If this chance is lost, Russia will do to us what it did to Ukraine... Belarus should close the border with Russia and start withdrawing Russian troops from the territory of Belarus," she said.

As a reminder, the founder of the private military company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, accused the Russian regular army of launching a missile attack on the rear camps of its mercenaries. The Russian Ministry of Defense considers this statement a provocation. Prigozhin promised to "punish" those who attacked the rear camps of the private military company. On June 24, Prigozhin's militants seized administrative buildings in Rostov and moved to Voronezh. Prigozhin promised that Wagner's men would reach Moscow and take over.

In an address to Russians on June 24, the Russian president said that the actions of the Wagnerites were aimed at dividing society.

On the evening of June 24, Prigozhin said that he had agreed to Alexander Lukashenko's persuasion and would take the Wagnerites to field camps.
