Window insulation is an important way to keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. This can help save money on your heating and air conditioning bills and make your home more comfortable.

With the right window insulation, you can reduce your utility bills because the heat will stay inside your home. Sante Plus writes how to do it.

1. Protect the windows with a thermal film. To properly insulate windows, you can add a simple thermal film to the glass. This will not only reduce your electricity and heating bills, but also improve the thermal comfort of your home.

Insulating film is a thin plastic film that effectively retains heat in the house. It is especially useful for single windows.

It is recommended to clean the windows before installation, because you will need double-sided tape to properly stick the plastic film. Usually the tape comes with an insulating film. You will then stick the adhesive tape around the window frame, and then cut the film to a size that fits the glass and windows. To ensure that the film is installed correctly, you can use a hair dryer, holding it a few centimeters away from the plastic film. This will prevent wrinkles from forming.

2. Insulate the windows with bubble wrap. Although this method is not as elegant, it is effective in insulating your windows. Prepare a small spray bottle filled with water and spray it on the previously cleaned window. Then apply the bubble wrap to the wet surface and secure the edges with adhesive tape. This should prevent heat loss. However, be sure to buy a good quality tape so that it does not come off when you stick the bubble wrap.

3. Repair cracks in the windows with putty. The slightest crack in the window will allow fresh air to enter every room. To avoid this, it is advisable to use caulk. This will allow you to fill every crack in the windows.

4. Install thermal curtains on the windows. Another way to insulate windows is to install thermal curtains. In fact, their lining can block cold air from entering your home. In addition, they not only limit heat loss but also add aesthetics to your home.

As a reminder, many people tend to wash clothes at low temperatures to save water and electricity. However, experts warn that this can be harmful to health.
