1. Protect your windows with thermal curtains, which form a real thermal barrier against winter cold. It is made of different materials with insulating properties such as cotton, wool, PVC or polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

In addition, thermal curtains limit indoor temperature fluctuations and energy loss. However, a thermal curtain will not be more effective than a double-glazed window. They can be combined to keep you warm all winter long.

2. Warm the room to a comfortable temperature. Choose the optimal temperature to keep the room warm. This will also help reduce your energy consumption by 7% and still enjoy the warmth. Experts recommend keeping the room temperature at 17°C, 17°C to 22°C in the bathroom and 16°C to 19°C in the living room.

3. Place reflective panels. Using reflective warm panels will help to heat your home. They are installed at the back of the radiator. Aluminum foil can be used instead of panels.

4. Close the shutters at night. Another good tip for retaining the heat generated by your heating is to close your shutters at night to keep warm. This should be done every day, by doing this you will avoid heat escaping.

5. Keep the door of your home closed. Simply closing the door to a room will help conserve heat. Whether you are in the room or not, you will prevent hot air from being able to escape or cold air from entering. In addition, the air will stop circulating, ensuring energy savings.

6. Move furniture away from cold walls., the exterior and interior walls of a home are usually colder in  winter. This temperature actually penetrates through the walls and penetrates the furniture located in the room. To conserve the heat generated by the heating system, always keep a distance between the wall and the furniture.

Remember that furniture placed against cold walls absorbs the cold and can cause heat loss and reduce the efficiency of your heating.

7. Ventilate the room. Ventilation is important, but there is no need to leave windows open for long hours. To properly ventilate your home, simply open them a few times a day for 5-10 minutes. In this way, the atmosphere in the room will become healthier.

Recall that many people tend to wash clothes at low temperatures to save water and electricity. However, experts warn that this can be harmful to health.
