Pensioners in Ukraine will receive more money from July 1: who should expect additional payments

Starting July 1, pension payments for civil servants and academics will increase in Ukraine. According to the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution No. 168 of February 24, 2023, the next stage of payment indexation will take place on July 1.

This is the second stage of the increase envisaged by the said resolution. The first stage of indexation, which applied to most types of pensions, was already implemented on March 1 this year.

According to the approved decision, the increase in pensions for civil servants and academics will be 19.7%, or a coefficient of 1.197, the same as in the previous phase. The increase applies only to the basic pension without supplements. The total amount of the increase cannot be less than UAH 100, and the maximum amount of the additional payment is limited to UAH 1500.

It is important to note that pensions amounting to UAH 20,930 or more will not be subject to an increase. The indexation is within the maximum pension amount equal to ten subsistence minimums, which is currently UAH 2,093 per month.

This decision of the Cabinet of Ministers is aimed at supporting civil servants and scientists who receive pensions under the Laws "On Civil Service", "On Service in Local Self-Government Bodies", "On the Status of a Member of Parliament of Ukraine" and "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities".

The decision is expected to help ensure social protection of pensioners and improve their financial situation.

Earlier, the Pension Fund named the categories of Ukrainians who can receive a subsidy even without meeting one of the conditions.
