How to find a small object on a carpet and in hard-to-reach places: a life hack with a vacuum cleaner

It can be a challenge to find small lost items in modern apartments, especially those with a lot of furniture and high-pile carpets.

These can be earrings, pendants, glasses caps and other small items that disappear for a long time and seem impossible to find. However, some simple practical tips simplify this process, Ukr.Media reports.

One of the most effective ways is to use a vacuum cleaner. Before you start, it's important to make some changes. Turn your vacuum cleaner into a metal detector.

Attach a few medium-sized magnets to the main metal suction pipe. They mustn't interfere with each other. Wrap the end of the pipe with any material with small pores. This will ensure unobstructed airflow.

Connect the vacuum cleaner and start cleaning the carpeting. Check to see if the magnet has become magnetised to the lost item and if it is stuck on the end of the furniture.

Don't limit yourself to carpets. Use a similar approach under furniture. Move your vacuum cleaner around, looking for lost items that may be in hard-to-reach places.

These simple but effective actions can lead to unexpected discoveries. It often turns out that small things you have already forgotten about can be quickly found in the most unexpected places.
